The Jacobian Conjecture: linear triangularization for homogeneous polynomial maps in dimension three
Let k be a field of characteristic zero and F : k → k a polynomial map of the form F = x + H, where H is homogeneous of degree d ≥ 2. We show that the Jacobian Conjecture is true for such mappings. More precisely, we show that if JH is nilpotent there exists an invertible linear map T such that T−1HT = (0, h2(x1), h3(x1, x2)), where the hi are homogeneous of degree d. As a consequence of this r...
متن کاملOne-one Polynomial Maps
It is a fundamental fact about simultaneous linear equations that uniqueness implies existence in the sense that if the »X» system MX= Y has, for each Y, at most one solution X, then, for each Y, the equation actually has a solution. Our purpose is to show that this situation persists for certain "nonlinear equations" as well, namely that, restricting everything to the reals, if Pi, P2 are poly...

Polynomial maps attached to polynomials of an Ore extension are naturally defined. In this setting we show the importance of pseudo-linear transformations and give some applications. In particular, factorizations of polynomials in an Ore extension over a finite field Fq[t; θ], where θ is the Frobenius automorphism, are translated into factorizations in the usual polynomial ring Fq[x].
متن کاملCompression of Polynomial Texture Maps
image compression, texture mapping, 3D graphics, JPEG, JPEG-LS, polynomial texture maps Polynomial Texture Maps (PTM's) are representations of stationary 3D objects which provide enhanced image quality and improved perception of the object surface details at the cost of increased storage requirements. In this paper, we investigate several compression schemes for PTM's, that either preserve ever...
متن کاملUnfolding Polynomial Maps at Infinity
Let f : Cn → C be a polynomial map. The polynomial describes a family of complex affine hypersurfaces f−1(c), c ∈ C. The family is locally trivial, so the hypersurfaces have constant topology, except at finitely many irregular fibers f−1(c) whose topology may differ from the generic or regular fiber of f . We would like to give a full description of the topology of this family in terms of easil...
